The Message Church, in San Mateo, is relaunching this weekend, Sunday March 4th, and doing so in a big way. You may have noticed the big billboard on northbound 101 (right before the 3rd st. exit) featuring an original painting by local artist and church member, Lindsey Olivares, and with the big caption, "Love Happens".
Starting March 4th there will be a series of four teachings - one per Sunday - with the same title, encouraging those who attend to love themselves, love their neighbors, and to make a difference in their city by doing volunteer work.
The series will culminate on Sunday, March 25th, when immediately after the service there will be a San Mateo Central Park clean up, sponsored by the church in partnership with Starbucks™ Coffee and Espetus™ Restaurants.
This is the culmination of a journey that started in 2007 when about 10 friends had a dream of establishing a new church for people who don't go to church! Now the growing community has found the perfect place, with plenty of parking, right across from Bridgepointe Shopping Center and Target™.
