The Buddhist path offers us practical and applicable tools for our real, everyday lives. The practices of mindfulness and loving-kindness can and should become a way of life. In order to truly live the teachings we need to dedicate periods of time to intensive formal practice. This day-long retreat is an opportunity to do just that. Together we will explore the four foundations of mindfulness with an emphasis on loving-kindness in a distraction free and supportive environment. The day will be held in silence and instructions will be offered throughout. This event is appropriate for anyone who is interested. No experience is necessary, preregistration is very helpful…but feel free to show up the day of the event. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Currently, Andrew teaches mindfulness-based therapeutic interventions at several mental health and addictions treatment centers in the greater Nashville area, specializing in adolescent and youth treatment. According to the ancient tradition of Theravada Buddhism, we practice dana, the mindful generosity that opens the heart. We provide a donations basket so those who attend can practice dana in turn and keep the sangha going so that others can also attend freely.
