Singer, composer, and producer, Diane Witherspoon began singing as a child
(with 8 siblings), and often performed in her church choir. Originally from
Minneapolis, Minnesota, and now residing in Las Vegas, NV, Diane spends
much of her professional life performing abroad in places like Mumbai,
Singapore, China, Europe, and recently, in Africa. Diane has taught music
and conducted workshops for students in California public schools and in
Tokyo, Japan. Inspired by her sister, Shirley Witherspoon, a former Duke
Ellington vocalist, and second cousin, Jimmy Witherspoon, a legendary blues
\singer, Diane is coming back to the Bay Area for this rare opportunity to
perform for her long-time fan base here.

Joining Diane for this concert will be legendary west coast jazz drummer,
Myron Cohen and his Billy Higgins Legacy Band. On piano, renowned Lee Bloom
will join Myron as musical director for the material which will cover some
Cedar Walton tunes, jazz standards with new arrangements, and some fresh tunes.

As individuals, Myron and Lee have performed with just some of the following
luminaries: Madeleine Peyroux, Pete Escovedo, Mary Stallings, Hall Stein, Michael Bloomfield,        John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Roland Kirk, Otis Spann, Todd Phillips, Steve Heckman, Jamie Davis, Dan Hicks, Rosanne Cash, Hazel Dickens, Elvis Costello, Ron Stallings,     Azar Lawrence, Ravi Coltrane, Woody Shaw, Donald 'Rafael' Garrett and Wayne Shorter.
