The International Conference of Islamic Arts and Handicrafts will be held in Tehran and Tabriz.
Secretary of the conference, Mehdi Mohammadzadeh, said the conference will be held from May 5-7 in Tehran and in Tabriz University of Art from May 9-10.
Mohammadzadeh noted that preparing conditions for education and development, evaluating the current status of art and handicrafts in the Muslim world, studying challenges faced by the sector and determining Islamic traditions and criteria are among the objectives of the conference.
He stated that an exhibition of handicrafts and achievements of Iranian craftsmen in the field of training will be held on the sidelines of the conference.
Mohammadzadeh pointed out that the exhibition will be held in eight parts, including metal art and industries, wooden arts and industries, glass art and industries, pottery, carpet, calligraphy and book writing.
